Funding is available from the National Institute of Standards and Technology for medical device manufacturers engaged in Cable and Wire Harnesses and PCBAs to help you prepare for MedAccred Accreditation.
What is MedAccred accreditation? It is an industry-designed oversight program to ensure the robustness of certain critical processes during manufacturing. This accreditation demonstrates that the manufacturer has tight control over critical processes and drives defects to very low levels.
There is up to $25,000 in funding available to offset the full cost of the pre-assessment for California manufacturers pursuing MedAccred Accreditation.
A large group of medical device manufacturers are sponsoring this pilot program to build strength within their supply chains. It is likely that in the future, the MedAccred accreditation will be required to participate in their supply chain. Sponsors of this pilot program include but are not limited to: J&J, Baxter, Medtronic, Stryker, BD, Philips, and GE Healthcare.
